This page describes Prix Fixe Accounting's text messaging (SMS) program in full — what we send, who can receive it, how consent works, what data is involved, and how to stop. It is the terms-of-use and privacy page for the SMS program specifically. Our general Privacy Policy and Website Terms of Use cover everything else.
The program
Prix Fixe Accounting operates a Customer Care text messaging program for its active clients only. We do not send text messages to prospective clients, and we do not send marketing or promotional text messages to anyone. There is no way to join this program through our website.
How consent works
Text messaging is available only to clients who have signed our SMS Communication Consent — a standalone written form, presented at engagement signing and available at any time afterward from your accountant.
Consent is not a condition of purchase. It is not required to become or remain a Prix Fixe Accounting client, it is not required to receive any service, and declining it changes nothing about our work or your fees. The consent is a separate signature from your engagement letter, so that agreeing to be texted is a decision you make on its own — and can reverse on its own.
Only the mobile number named on your signed consent form will be texted.
What we send
Short operational notices about your account:
Reminders and scheduling for your monthly advisory meeting or another scheduled call.
A prompt that something needs your attention in your email or the client portal.
A password for a protected file, sent separately from the file itself.
Time-sensitive operational notices — an approaching payroll or filing cutoff, a returned payment, or a similar matter that cannot wait for email.
What we will not send by text: marketing or promotions of any kind; personally identifiable information such as Social Security numbers, account numbers, or login credentials; financial statements, invoices, or other documents; account balances or figures from your books; requests for approval; or substantive answers to accounting questions. Email through our managed email platform remains the system of record for your engagement.
Message frequency, rates, and carriers
Message frequency varies based on communication needs. Message and data rates may apply — your mobile carrier's standard charges apply to messages you send and receive; Prix Fixe Accounting does not charge for text messages. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Supported carriers may change without notice.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message and texting to that number stops immediately, including operational notices. You will receive a final confirmation message and nothing further.
Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact your accountant directly.
You may also withdraw consent in writing at any time by emailing your accountant or admin@prixfixe.accountants.
Withdrawing consent has no effect on your engagement, your services, or your fees. If you have opted out and a protected file needs a password, we will call you at a number on file instead.
The data, and what we do with it
What we collect. The information on your signed consent form: your business name, the name of the person consenting, the mobile number to be texted, and an email address.
How we use it. Solely to send you the Customer Care messages described above and to maintain the record of your consent. We do not use it for marketing.
Sharing. No mobile opt-in information is shared with, sold to, or rented to third parties, and no mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messages are transmitted through our messaging provider solely to deliver them, under confidentiality obligations.
Retention. We retain your number and consent record while you remain opted in. If you opt out, texting stops immediately; the record that you consented and later withdrew is retained as part of your client file under the retention terms of your engagement letter.
Your engagement letter still controls
If you are a Prix Fixe Accounting client, the confidentiality, data-security, and retention terms of your signed engagement letter govern our handling of your client information, including anything sent or referenced by text. Nothing on this page reduces those protections.
